Know your skin

A healthy and fresh skin is a blessing. The skin is the largest organ we have and probably the more we care creams and treatments.
The skin is also the organ most exposed to the environment and may suffer from exposure to the elements, especially the sun. The skin is a complex organ with complex functions. The function of the skin is to protect the body.
Women have thinner skin than men for this reason we crease with ease. The skin has three interconnected layers:
Epidermis
This is the outer layer of skin, which showed the world and expose more. This layer in turn is composed of other sub-layer of mostly cells called keratinocytes. These cells move and eventually reach the outer surface forming a protective barrier layer.
Dermis
This layer is the operational control of the skin. Here are blood vessels, sweat glands, sebaceous glands, nerve endings and collagen and elastin. The dermis nourishes the epidermis. Here begin the mud and redness due to alteration of circulation as when you blush.
Beauty creams have ingredients that are trying to reach the epidermis but very few are successful because it avoids the epidermis. The foundation of the dermis is collagen. Collagen is the protein that together with elastin create the basic structure of the skin. The more we have the firmer collagen our skin.
Hypodermis
It is the subcutaneous layer of skin, in-depth. It has mostly fat and contains blood vessels and nerve endings. It also has collagen and elastin that are connected to the dermis.
It is important to maintain the level of fat in this layer so that our skin is uniform and firm. We tend to lose fat and collagen as time passes.
Collagen
Collagen is a substance that gives firmness and youthful appearance to the skin. As time passes we lose collagen and therefore our skin becomes looser and form lines and wrinkles. There is no evidence that the collagen in creams to be absorbed through the skin, or ingest it believes that more collagen.
