In general, people already know that sport has many health benefits the body and is essential for our well-being. A recent study has revealed other benefits and it is important to note together. The results of this study say that physical activity (sport) have high levels of anti-aging cell.

From time to time, a survey conducted in Germany showed that long-term exercise (sport) to prevent the shortening of telomeres. Telomeres are the end of the chromosome (including genetic information), and is considered the “biological clock”, because each cell becomes shorter. If there are remnants of telomeres, the cells die.

The work was done by the University Saalard and found that athletes are long telomeres. As a principal, Ulrich Laufs, one of the most important results of this research is to observe that “the exercise of professional athletes, led to activation of an enzyme called telomerase and telomere stabilization important.

To make this work, they collected blood samples of riders to top level competition, the median age of 20 years, and other Middle-aged athletes had started their activities when they were young. Has also examined a group of professional athletes, but all in good health and non-smokers.

All these people are trained not only in better shape, but have also improved cardiac function, blood pressure, body mass index and cholesterol.

However, the oldest found in an analysis of blood leukocytes and put under the microscope it was observed that in the case of athletes, these cells have longer telomeres and increased activation of telomerase, the enzyme caused the elongation of these components.

More importantly, we found that telomere loss associated with age are much lower among athletes who train for years, it is concluded that the key lies in the long term physical activity (sport).
